(Patriot.Buzz) – In what could be described as a wasteful expenditure funded by taxpayer money, a new group set up in 2021 to tackle threats against election workers and officials has examined thousands of cases but only secured a single conviction.
Specifically, the U.S. Department of Justice was behind the creation of this task force, which has reviewed 2,000 cases since its formation.
According to a recent report, 1,140 of these cases were singlehandedly reported by notorious leftist Jena Griswold, the Secretary of State from Colorado.
In their report, Colorado Peak Politics noted that of all the complaints Griswold filed, only one led to a legal conviction.
The report slammed Griswold’s approach, emphasizing that Americans are no longer living in “the Wild Wild West anymore or even the 1980s” when you could freely threaten others.
It stressed that while elected officials like Griswold should not have to endure endless threats or abusive remarks, they must also understand that not everyone will always agree with them.
The report added, “Elected officials should expect their constituents aren’t always going to agree with them, and as Americans are, can sometimes be quite annoying about it. It’s critical that officials learn to tell the difference, for everyone’s safety.”
Even the single case that resulted in a conviction seems dubious, according to the report.
Griswold has even demanded that lawmakers provide special security measures for her and her team, but she has been denied.
The only case that led to a conviction involved 52-year-old Kirk Wertz from Littleton.
Wertz was jailed for 286 days before being convicted on a minor felony charge of retaliation and then placed on probation.
His supposed threat was not recorded but alleged to be, “I’ve got a message for the secretary and want you to pass it along: The angel of death is coming for her in the name of Jesus Christ.”
