As former CIA director and Trump-era secretary of state Mike Pompeo goes on a tour to promote his book, “Never Give an Inch: Fighting for the America I Love” and possibly increase his profile ahead of a potential 2024 bid, his made damning accusations.

On Wednesday (January 25), in a Fox News interview, Pompeo asserted that Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff (Ca.) shouldn’t be allowed on the House Intelligence Committee, given he believed the California lawmaker leaked classified information.

Pompeo was discussing House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA.) decision to block Schiff and his Democratic colleagues Rep. Ilhan Omar and Eric Swalwell from serving on Committee’s expressing his support of that decision.

Particularly in Schiff’s case, Pompeo asserted McCarthy’s decision to block him was warranted, suggesting that while Schiff chaired the Intelligence Committee, he leaked classified information.

Pompeo said, “I know that he leaked classified information that had been provided to him.”
But when queried why he didn’t act on that information when he had the authority to do so, Pompeo replied it’s a “complicated process,” adding that it is “difficult to pin down precisely what happened.

However, Pompeo did insist that, as a result of his suspicions, he “held back” information from Schiff.

But Schiff’s team has hit out against the claim, saying his remarks were “false and defamatory” and calling Pompeo one of the former President’s “failed lackeys.”

McCarthy rejected Schiff after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries submitted the California Democrat to be on the Intel Committee.
