State officials sound the alarm for potential threats to human health and the agricultural industry.
Raw Farm, located in Fresno, California, is at the center of a growing concern as additional contaminants were found in its raw milk products.
The expanded recall affects all whole milk and cream products produced between November 9 and November 27.
State health officials emphasize the need for consumer vigilance, advising against the consumption of raw milk and cream products, The Durango Herald reports.
“California has secured a broad, voluntary recall of all Raw Farm LLC raw milk and cream products due to possible bird flu contamination,” announced the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), cited by Newsweek.
The California Department of Food and Agriculture has placed Raw Farm under quarantine and halted the distribution of their products made after November 27.
Though no human illnesses have been reported, the presence of the bird flu remains an acute concern, especially after some pets developed fatal conditions from contaminated milk.
The virus, identified as Type A H5N1, first appeared in U.S. dairy cows earlier this year and has spread rapidly.
Thirty-one cases have been identified in California alone this year, contributing to a total of 57 infections across the country.
As the virus spreads, the agricultural community remains on high alert.
“Californians are strongly encouraged not to consume any raw milk or cream products in their possession or still on store shelves,” CDPH officials have said.
CDPH warns against drinking a single batch of cream top, whole raw milk from Raw Farm, LLC due to bird flu virus detection.
At the state’s request, Raw Farm issued a voluntary recall of lot code 20241109 with a best by date of 11/27/2024.

These developments have reignited debates regarding raw milk regulations.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a known consumer of Raw Farm’s products, describes this as “aggressive suppression” and hints at looming policy changes under President-elect Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, Raw Farm’s owner argues that there are no safety issues, labeling the recall as a political maneuver.
Despite the absence of any human cases linked to raw milk consumption, officials stress that bird flu, capable of severe effects, poses a danger whenever contamination occurs.
