President Biden became a trending topic on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, after a report emerged on Wednesday highlighting that he narrated the “exact same account” at an event within a short span of time.

“Having briefly highlighted his economic achievements, the President then looked back at his journey to the White House,” mentioned the report from Jonathan Lemire of Politico, who accompanied Biden that day. “He recounted the Charlottesville incident of 2017 as his campaign’s motivation. Strikingly, he revisited this narrative just a few moments later, echoing his previous words.”

X users seized upon this, using it to argue that age might be affecting the 80-year-old leader, an issue he has been confronted with from multiple quarters since he became president.

“We’re supposed to ignore questions about his age and cognitive health?” remarked Pradheep Shanker, a contributor for National Review, on X.

Jake Schneider from RNC quipped, “Everything seems alright here.”

Breitbart’s senior editor, Joel Pollak, commented, “He’s been repeating this scripted story since 2019, with descriptions like ‘bulging veins’.”

Steve Guest, a Republican strategist, said, “This is standard… Absolutely standard.”

Adam Loewy, an attorney, speculated about Biden’s prospects, saying, “Contemplating another term would be irresponsible. He won’t make it to 86.”

Though some Democrats, such as California Governor Gavin Newsom, downplay Biden’s age, pointing to his vast experience, others are worried as more such moments get shared widely online.

A recent poll by the Associated Press-NORC discovered that 77% of the populace believes Biden might be too aged for a re-election. This sentiment was echoed by 89% of Republicans, and a significant 69% of Democrats.

Joe Scarborough of MSNBC disclosed that almost every political dialogue he’s had revolving around Biden brings up concerns about his age. He mentioned, “Each and every conversation, without exception.”

Earlier in the year, a video clip of Mika Brzezinski gained attention, wherein she criticized the president’s team after a few missteps by Biden in public appearances.

“You have a duty to ensure the president’s safety. Be vigilant about potential hazards and guide him. Missteps, especially due to age-related factors, can’t be a recurring theme,” she asserted.

In response to age-related inquiries, Biden has consistently asked people to judge him by his actions, assuring them of his capability to serve the nation. He mentioned earlier, “Should any health concerns arise that hamper my ability to serve, I’d be upfront. For now, observe my performance and decide.”
