On Wednesday (May 24), President Joe Biden’s mocked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s shaky start to the Presidential campaign trail.

Taking to his personal Twitter account, Biden tweeted: “This link works,” directing followers to his campaign donation page, as DeSantis’s attempt to talk about his candidacy on Twitter Spaces was overshadowed by dozens of technical issues.

Biden published the tweet as DeSantis attempted to launch his 2024 Presidential campaign in an interview with Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Twitter Spaces.

Biden later published a 16-second video that featured a text box with questions on the left side and, on the right, displayed various clips of DeSantis seemingly in response to the questions. The questions included queries about his Abortion stance, cutting Social Security and Medicare, and whether he could launch a campaign.

By Thursday morning, the video had already received 4.6 million views.

Musk and DeSantis were scheduled to speak on Twitter Spaces at 6 p.m. EFT, but the event was plagued by audio glitches, with the sound cutting off several times mid-conversation.

As a result, DeSantis and Musk would go silent for a few seconds before their audio would randomly kick in again.

At one point, David Sacks, who moderated the discussion, said that the number of listeners was “melting the servers.”

DeSantis’ rivals have already questioned why the Governor chose to make his announcement on Twitter Spaces instead of a press conference or rally and quickly mocked the launch’s shortcomings.

Shortly before launching Twitter Spaces, DeSantis released a video officially announcing his presidential candidacy.
