(Patriot.Buzz) – In an attempt to silence the dissenting voices within his own party, Joe Biden just sent a letter to congressional Democrats, demanding they stop the internal conflicts that have escalated since his widely criticized debate performance.
As lawmakers resume work in Washington, they are faced with a key decision: to support Biden’s reelection campaign or to seek new leadership, which directly impacts both his and their political future.
In his letter, Biden said he intended to remain in the presidential race, stating, “The question of how to move forward has been well-aired for over a week now. And it’s time for it to end.”
He emphasized that the party’s primary goal was preventing former President Donald Trump from retaking the White House in the upcoming November elections.
“We have 42 days to the Democratic Convention and 119 days to the general election,” Biden wrote.
“Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It’s time to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump,” he added.
Following the letter, Biden reinforced his message during a phone interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
In it, he said he was frustrated with the dissent within his party and dismissed the influence of high-profile detractors. “They’re big names, but I don’t care what those big names think,” he declared.
He challenged his critics to either “announce for president, challenge me at the convention” or to unite behind him against Trump.
The political atmosphere is tense as influential Democrats contemplate whether Biden should continue his campaign.
Some of Biden’s staunchest supporters are intensifying their efforts to secure his position, arguing there is no better candidate to challenge Trump in what is considered a critical election.
With the Democratic National Convention fast approaching and the Republican convention set to reaffirm Trump as their candidate, some Democrats are urging to focus on Trump’s legal challenges, including a felony conviction and ongoing federal cases at the hands of Democratic prosecutors.
Meanwhile, House Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries is holding private discussions to forge a consensus among party members before publicly stating his position.
However, a confidential call among senior House Democrats revealed a growing consensus for Biden to withdraw, with influential figures like Rep. Jerrold Nadler and others voicing their concerns.
