Dark Brandon Using Dark Money?!

(Patriot.Buzz) – Confirming they are getting desperate by the day, Joe Biden’s campaign team announced they would accept dark money donations in a reversal from their previous stance against such contributions.

According to a statement to CBS News, the campaign justified the decision by saying the “stakes of this election are sky high.”

A Biden adviser noted, “We will protect our democracy with every tool that is legally available.”

This announcement came alongside reports of a $64 million anonymous donation made to Biden’s 2020 campaign through the Impetus Fund, a 501c4 organization committed to “social welfare.”

This fund transferred $55 million of the total donation to Future Forward USA Action, a nonprofit Biden super PAC, which then allocated $60 million to its affiliate for election-related activities. This routing process hid the donors’ identities.

The D.C.-based Impetus Fund involved in these transactions promotes itself as a collaborator with “changemakers” to enhance democracy.

Impetus Fund president Ezra Reese has connections with prominent Democratic election lawyer Marc Elias and is associated with Arabella Advisors.

Arabella Advisors is known for managing substantial dark money funds. It had about $3 billion for the 2022 midterms and previously used $410 million against Donald Trump and Republican senators in 2020.

Biden’s ongoing acceptance of dark money has attracted criticism from various government oversight groups.

Caitlin Sutherland from Americans for Public Trust expressed frustration over the hypocrisy, stating, “For too long the left has been playing a game of decrying dark money while at the same time being fully dependent on it, even supercharging Mr. Biden’s reelection campaign.”

Anna Massoglia of OpenSecrets highlighted the opacity caused by dark money, explaining, “Without information about who is funding groups spending to influence elections, voters won’t know who is trying to color their views, won’t be aware of any potential conflicts of interest that a funder has or what stake they may have in the outcome of the election.”

As the 2024 election cycle progresses, Biden has maintained a strong fundraising lead, although Trump has been narrowing the gap with substantial contributions amid his ongoing legal issues.
