(Patriot.Buzz) – In a unanimous vote, Idaho’s Board of Education banned public university diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, which dealt a significant blow to the wake ideology poisoning the higher education system.
This sweeping action prohibits the use of diversity statements in employment or admissions, removes mandates on gender identity recognition, and bars universities from requiring DEI activities or structures.
Board President Dr. Linda Clark emphasized the importance of this decision, stating:
“I believe our actions as a Board today are a strong signal to all Idaho students that our institutions are prepared to meet whatever needs they have when they walk through the door.”
“I am looking forward to seeing our universities implement these resolutions while we continue working on the issue as a Board,” she continued.
The resolution aims to prioritize individual merit over race, sexual orientation, religion, or gender identity. This move aligns with conservative values that emphasize equal opportunity rather than equal outcomes.
By dismantling the DEI infrastructure, Idaho’s public universities can refocus on providing quality education based on academic excellence rather than divisive identity politics.
“This is really about leading and choosing to lead, rather than wait for someone else to define the path that is best for our students and our institutions,” Director of the Office of the State Board of Education, Joshua Whitworth, said.
Moreover, the board’s decision comes after months of debate and criticism, with significant opposition from students indoctrinated by the very system the resolution aims to reform.
Despite receiving over 700 student comments, 80% of which opposed the DEI resolution, the board stood firm in its commitment to upholding traditional academic values.
This courageous decision by the Idaho Board of Education sets a powerful example for other states to follow.
By June 30, 2025, the University of Idaho, Idaho State University, Boise State University, and Lewis-Clark State College will close offices and centers catering to specific identity groups, marking a return to a truly inclusive educational environment that treats all students equally.
“I am proud of our institutions for stepping up and making meaningful changes to their institutions through these resolutions. By working closely with our institutions and the Governor’s Office, the Board has made a commitment that every student has the support that they need to succeed,” Whitworth added.
The resolution also mandates political neutrality and transparency in classroom teachings, ensuring that students receive an education free from ideological indoctrination.
Additionally, administrators are now banned from canceling controversial guest speakers for campus safety reasons, protecting free speech and diverse viewpoints on campus.
As Idaho leads the charge against the divisive DEI agenda, the tide is clearly turning in favor of true equality and merit-based education.
