(Patriot.Buzz) – Highlighting the anxiety within the Democratic Party over their diminishing chances in the 2024 presidential race, Democratic governors are demanding Joe Biden stop discussing former President Donald Trump.
Democrats are pleading with Biden to emphasize issues such as abortion and the perceived successes of his administration’s infrastructure and other programs. These suggestions come amid polling data from RealClearPolitics, showing Trump leading Biden by 1.7% in the average of polls conducted from early November to early December.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, who secured a second term by defeating Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron, called for a turn towards a seemingly positive campaign. “You’ve got to run for something and not against someone,” he stated, touting the need for a constructive political narrative.
California Governor Gavin Newsom pointed out an alleged lack of awareness among the public regarding what he deems to be the Biden administration’s accomplishments. “People just don’t know the record,” he remarked, stressing the need for better communication of the administration’s successes.
Newsom also noted a paradox in public perception, where individuals express satisfaction with their personal lives and local communities yet perceive the country as being in decline. “You ask, ‘How are you doing?’ They say, ‘We’re doing great, but this country’s going to hell,’” he observed.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy suggested that Biden should actively promote and attend events related to infrastructure projects and factory openings resulting from deficit-bloating legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act. Murphy said, “I would be doing those morning, noon and night,” to highlight the tangible benefits of these initiatives.
Similarly, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly advised taking advantage of these opportunities as they are “relatively easy and they are energizing.”
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer underscored the importance of discussing abortion rights, a critical issue for liberal voters. “We should be talking about it like that because Americans are awake,” she commented. “They are angry that this right could be stripped away and we are the only ones fighting for it,” Whitmer asserted, advocating for a more aggressive stance on abortion rights.
