(Patriot.Buzz) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis seems to be a copycat of President Trump and Elon Musk as he took a step to combat government inefficiency by creating the “DOGE Task Force,” which aims to reform Florida’s state agencies.

This conservative initiative, inspired by Trump-era policies and Musk’s federal efforts, aims to protect taxpayers and restore fiscal responsibility in the Sunshine State.
DeSantis signed an executive order creating the “DOGE Task Force” to examine state spending and efficiency, signaling a commitment to responsible governance.
The task force will operate for one year, expiring on March 31, 2026, and utilize cutting-edge artificial intelligence to scrutinize government operations, payments, and contracts.
DeSantis declared:
“We are creating a state DOGE task force that will implement a multi-prong approach to eliminating bureaucratic bloat and modernizing our state government to best serve the people of Florida in the years ahead.”
The task force’s mission includes auditing and reviewing universities for operational and financial efficiency, with a particular focus on rooting out wasteful diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.
DeSantis aims to remove DEI from university courses, emphasizing a return to classical education principles that align with conservative values.
DeSantis added:
“If you wanna do some of this, go to Cal-Berkeley, go to some of these other places. Some of the ideological studies stuff, we just want to prune that and get that out and we want to make sure that these universities are really serving the classical mission of what a university should be and that’s not to impose ideology, it’s really to teach students how to think and to prepare them to be citizens of our republic.”
Moreover, the initiative plans to eliminate hundreds of unnecessary government jobs and shut down around 70 state boards deemed obsolete or redundant.
As expected, state Democrats have criticized the plan, questioning the focus on government waste after nearly 30 years of Republican control in Florida.
However, their complaints only serve to highlight the ongoing need for fiscal responsibility and the importance of constant vigilance against bureaucratic excess.
The governor’s initiative extends beyond state agencies, seeking compliance from local municipalities for audits to address rising property taxes.
DeSantis aims to identify and curb excessive local government spending, providing relief to hardworking Floridians burdened by ever-increasing tax bills.
With Florida currently enjoying a budget surplus, DeSantis’s fiscal conservatism shines through as he plans to return nearly $1 billion in unneeded federal funds to help reduce the national debt.
