They are not happy at all.

Following the Supreme Court’s anticipated Roe v Wade overturning, Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.), a member of the “Squad” attacked the Court’s decision, calling it “extremist, racist, classist, bigoted.”

Commenting on the landmark ruling in an interview with MSNBC on Friday, Bush highlighted that she and other Democrats had been working to secure access to abortion, only “To have this far-right extremist, racist, classist, bigoted, Supreme Court strike down Roe v. Wade.”

She added that the Court had made the ruling despite “the majority of the people of this country have said that they don’t want Roe v. Wade overturned.”

The Missouri Democrat then expressed that she believes future access to abortion in America will be “absolutely horrible” before claiming that interracial and gay marriages, and even birth control, could be next on the Supreme Court’s agenda.

“Is marriage equality next? Is interracial marriage next? What about birth control?” Bush questioned, saying that “all of those things” are “on the table.”

While Bush’s remarks represent most Democrats’ reactions to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Republicans reacted differently.

Commenting on the ruling, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY.) called the decision “courageous and correct.”

Although a draft opinion had been leaked earlier in the year, Justice Samuel Alito wrote in the Court’s official opinion: “We end this opinion where we began. Abortion presents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives.”
