(Patriot.Buzz) – Seeking concrete answers and demanding accountability, the Housе Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic plans to request Dr. Anthony Fauci to provide access to his email and cell phone records.
This petition specifically targets communications that might shed light on thе origins of COVID-19, the activities of EcoHealth Alliance and related investigations.
This action was sparked by a letter penned by subcommittee chairman Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH).
The letter cites concerns about Dr. Fauci’s close associate, Dr. David Morens, a senior National Institutes of Health (NIH) advisor.
Morens is suspected of using personal email to evade Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and possibly destroy federal records.
During a recent subcommittee session, Morens stated, “I don’t remember,” when asked about sending COVID-19-related information to Dr. Fauci’s email.
Wenstrup’s letter details the scope of the subcommittee’s investigation, which includes “EcoHealth Alliance, Inc.’s (EcoHealth) activities at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), failures to monitor and enforce conditions required in EcoHealth’s grant, facilitation of gain-of-function research, and efforts by government and non-government officials to obstruct and delay our oversight efforts.”
The letter mentions, “As a part of the probe, we are reviewing thousands of communications from your former Senior Scientific Advisor, Dr. David Morens.”
It added, “The Select Subcommittee possesses communications from Dr. Morens in which he suggests he sent you official congressional correspondence related to COVID-19 to your personal e-mail account and that he had a ‘secret back channel’ to you.”
Wenstrup’s request highlights the need for transparency and accountability. It asks for all relevant documents and communications that might be on Dr. Fauci’s personal devices or accounts.
Wenstrup added in the letter:
“This testimony in addition to the documents in possession of the Select Subcommittee require we request documents and communications in your personal custody and control. Accordingly, the Select Subcommittee requests the following documents and information in your custody or control, including any responsive records retained in your personal e-mail(s), cell phone(s), or other electronic device(s) as soon as possible.”
He has set a deadline for Dr. Fauci to respond by June 12.
