You won’t believe what he said.

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head Dr. Anthony Fauci has stated that it is still too early to tell if Americans will be able to get together for Christmas due to the pandemic. He added that Americans should listen to the CDC and plan family events with the guidelines that are in place.

He made his remarks on CBS with anchor Margaret Brennan. She first asked Dr. Fauci what Americans should do to prepare for the upcoming holidays given the state of the pandemic across the country. Fauci responded by stating that all Americans who are planning to hold events in the future should look for outdoor locations or indoor locations with good ventilation to help prevent the spread of the pandemic. He also urged Americans to follow all CDC guidelines and wear masks even if they are vaccinated.

Brennan then asked if Americans will be able to get with their friends and family for Christmas to which Fauci replied with “it is too soon to tell.” He further added that Americans first have to concentrate on getting the pandemic numbers lower than it currently is. He continued stating that they will also have to keep numbers down before it can be safe for Americans to celebrate the holidays with their families.

Fauci went on to push booster shots saying that they are appropriate in this scenario because it can help “greatly in diminishing infection and diminishing advanced disease.”
