(Patriot.Buzz) – After being thrown into jail for defying COVID-19 lockdown orders, former business owner and Minnesota grandmother Lisa Hanson has issued a stark warning about Governor Tim Walz for posing a threat to American freedoms.
In an interview with Fox News, Hanson recounted her experience of reopening her business, the Interchange Wine & Coffee Bistro in Albert Lea, during the pandemic.
She noted that while large retailers were allowed to resume operations, smaller establishments like hers remained restricted.
After she decided to defy the lockdown orders, she was handed a 60-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine.
Hanson criticized Walz, especially after Kamala Harris chose him as her vice-presidential running mate for the 2024 election.
She shared, “This is the story that America needs to hear, that Tim Walz is not some cuddly, joyful coach, like all the things that the MSMs are calling him.”
“That is not who this man is. This man would like to take your rights away,” Hanson stated. “He will take your rights away. Because what happened to me could have happened to anybody. What happened to me will happen to you.”
Hanson, a mother of eight and grandmother to 18, was part of a group called “Open Minnesota.”
It comprised nearly 200 business owners who felt that Walz and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison were working “in a rogue fashion outside the law.”
She detailed the multiple civil and criminal cases that came against her after she reopened her business in December 2020.
In December 2021, she was convicted on misdemeanor charges and served 60 days in jail, which forced her to close her business due to mounting legal costs.
“My family has paid a dear price,” Hanson added. “While I was in jail, I missed out on Christmas with my family, I missed out on my wedding anniversary, and I also missed out on the birth of one of my grandchildren. I can never have that time back.
“That time was stolen from me. My business was destroyed. My business is gone. After everything that happened, Tim Walz and Keith Ellison destroyed my business. They wrecked my life,” Hanson concluded.
