Hunter in More Trouble

(Patriot.Buzz) – Adding to a string of troubles over possible criminal dealings being investigated by Congress, Hunter Biden is currently facing legal threats from Dr. Patrick Ho, a former employee of the Chinese company CEFC, who demands the return of $1 million.

Ho revealed that Hunter was supposed to provide legal services for the million-dollar sum but failed to fulfill his duties.

Last week, Ho sent Hunter a formal letter to indicate the termination of their attorney-client agreement and warned of looming legal action if he does not receive a full account of services provided by Hunter and a refund for the unused portion of the 2017 contractual agreement.

The letter was issued by the Hong Kong-based law firm Huen & Partners to Abbe Lowell, Hunter’s legal representative in Washington, D.C., and specifies a seven-day deadline for the reimbursement of any residual funds.

A close associate of Ho shared, “Patrick says he paid him, and that Hunter never did anything for him” and emphasized that the contract warrants a refund.

As detailed in Hunter’s California tax indictment, the $1 million legal retainer transitioned from CEFC in China to the company’s Hong Kong HSBC account but then moved on November 2, 2017, into the U.S. bank account of Hudson West III (HWIII), a company co-owned by Hunter and CEFC, before finally reaching Hunter’s own firm, Owasco.

Ho was caught in New York on November 18, 2017, upon his arrival from Hong Kong, convicted in 2019 for engaging in bribery with the leaders of Chad and Uganda and received a three-year prison sentence before being deported back to Hong Kong.

Ho asserts that despite receiving the $1 million, Hunter failed to perform any legal work on his behalf aside from contacting another lawyer, Edward Kim, and arriving late at a meeting with Ho and Kim at the Manhattan Correctional Center following Ho’s arrest. Expressing his discontent, Ho noted that Hunter did not visit him once during his incarceration.

Notably Hunter’s name is absent from the legal records as an attorney for the Patrick Ho case in the Southern District of New York.

During a court appearance on July 26, 2023, under oath before US District Judge Maryellen Noreika in Delaware, Hunter claimed the $1 million was a payment for legal services povided to Patrick Ho through his own law firm.
