Jordan: Defund Trump Prosecutors

(Patriot.Buzz) – In response to the unprecedented Democratic-led witch hunts targeting the Republican presidential candidate, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) unveiled a plan to defund the prosecutors who are involved in legal disputes with Donald Trump.

The former president, who is running for a second term, and his supporters assert that these legal actions are politically driven given his leading position in polls.

The suggestions are outlined in Jordan’s most recent budget proposal to House Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) for the fiscal year 2025 but do not specify any particular cases or name any prosecutors.

However, the Judiciary Committee GOP verified on X that the prosecutors focusing on Trump are indeed the target.

“We have conducted oversight of the troubling rise in politicized prosecutions and the use of abusive ‘lawfare’ tactics to target political opponents,” Jordan said in a letter to Cole.

Jordan stated that prosecutors engaged in a blatant abuse of “rules of professional conduct” by seeking a particular outcome based on politics.

“We recommend that the Appropriations Committee, with appropriate consultation from leadership, include language to eliminate federal funding for state prosecutors or state attorneys general involved in lawfare and to zero out federal funding for federal prosecutors engaged in such abuse,” Jordan wrote.

Last week, a New York jury found Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

These charges alleged that he concealed payments as part of a plot to hide an affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels in order to influence the 2016 election.

Trump denied the affair, entered a not guilty plea and stated he would appeal the “scam” trial.

In turn, leading prosecutor Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg commended the jury and claimed that his team followed “the facts and the law without fear or favor.” The sentencing is set for July 11.

As Trump seeks re-election this year, he faces three additional criminal cases at the state and federal levels.

Special Counsel Jack Smith is leading a classified documents case and a 2020 election case against Trump in Florida and Washington, D.C., respectively.

Meanwhile, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is overseeing a separate 2020 case. Trump has entered a not guilty plea for all charges he faces and maintains that he is the target of a “witch hunt.”
