Judge Slams DOJ

(Patriot.Buzz) – In a testament to the secretive moves seeking to advance the liberal agenda, a federal appeals court judge recently accused the Biden administration of playing scheming games in a significant immigration lawsuit.

Judge Lawrence VanDyke stated that the Department of Justice (DOJ) collaborated secretly with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and other liberal groups to fight for immigrants’ rights.

VanDyke pointed out the idea that Biden’s team was trying to interfere with the lawsuit so it would not end up in the Supreme Court since it could disrupt a series of decisions in favor of migrants made by the notably left-leaning 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Also, the judge argued that Biden’s team might be either avoiding a potentially embarrassing loss or be involved in a clandestine team-up with activist groups to secure an outcome that would tie the hands of a future tough-on-crime president.

VanDyke described these liberal groups’ actions as political mischief when he mentioned that “at the very least it looks like the administration and its frenemies on the other side of this case are colluding to avoid playing their politically fraught game during an election year.”

The whole issue centers around an asylum policy introduced last year by the government putting stricter criteria on who can ask for asylum in the U.S.

The logic goes that a true refugee running from government persecution would seek asylum in the first safe country they reach. This suggests those trekking through multiple countries to the U.S. are more in search of a better life than fleeing danger.

For months the Biden administration opposed the immigration activists, and government lawyers argued to the court that canceling the asylum rule could cause chaos at the border.

Judge VanDyke described the situation as typical of deals struck between left-leaning governments and activist groups. The usual strategy involves activists suing, the government putting up a feeble or non-existent defense and then both sides reaching a settlement that enforces policies they wanted from the start.

The judge theorized that the Biden team might be hitting two birds with one stone by cooperating with immigration advocates on policies their base supports while shifting any blame onto the courts.
