In an appearance on Fox News “Sunday Night in America” on August 28, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) gave a somber warning, predicting “riots in the streets” should former President Donald Trump be prosecuted for the handling of classified material.

Referencing the “Clinton debacle,” in which former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton used a private server for her official duties, Graham stated, “If there’s a prosecution of Donald Trump for mishandling classified information, after the Clinton debacle … there’ll be riots in the streets.”

Later on Sunday evening, Trump shared the clip on Truth Social.

Graham also declared that Trump was being subject to a double standard, before repeating that there would be riots if Trump is prosecuted in the Georgia special grand jury investigation into an attempt by Trump and allies to overturn Georgia’s 2020 results.

Graham has also been subpoenaed in the Georgia grand jury investigation but has been relentlessly attempting to block the subpoena.

The South Carolina Republican also alleged that the FBI had been told to “back off” from President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden ahead of the 2020 Presidential election to keep incriminating articles out of the headlines.

He contrasted this with Trump’s treatment, in which he revealed that “most Republicans” believe that “when it comes to Trump, there is no law. It’s all about getting him.”

He continued his remarks, expressing not having “been more worried about the law and politics as I am right now.”
