Is Graham right?
In a recent interview with Fox’s Sean Hannity, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) criticized the Senate for voting to raise the debt ceiling, something the Republicans were not planning to initially do.
Graham claimed that the GOP showed weakness because, from the very beginning, they vowed to not help the Democrats raise the debt ceiling and McConnell compromising with them proved the GOP was “all talk and no action.”
According to Breitbart, Graham stated, “Well, we screwed up,” he then explained that Republicans have been promising the American people that they wouldn’t help the Democrats raise the debt ceiling. Graham then said, “At the end of the day, we blinked. Two things have happened: We’ve let our people down, and we made the Democrats believe we are all talk and no action.”
Graham then continued to express frustration with his own party for “folding” to the Democrats. “We shot ourselves in the foot tonight, but we will revisit the issue in December,” Graham explained.
