This is just ridiculous.
On Saturday (February 26), left-wing writer Sarah Kendzior falsely claimed former President Donald Trump had been “installed” as President instead of being duly elected when he defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Presidential election.
The claim was made during Kendzior’s appearance on MSNBC’s “The Cross Connection” where she claimed that Trump’s purpose was to “weaken” alliances like “NATO, our relationship with our European partners, our relationship with Ukraine,” effectively hindering them from stopping Russian President Vladimir Putin from accomplishing his foreign policy objectives. She also alleged that Trump was also using corruption to undermine the Constitution.
She continued her claims, saying, “Trump was put in like a bulldozer,” before adding that he had also been put in as a “bulldozer to the Constitution, to our system of checks and balances, to our system of institutional trust, and the unwillingness of people in the United States to confront the brokenness of those institutions, whether through financial corruption in recent years, or age-old systemic problems like the endemic racism that holds our country up, has contributed to that.”
During her interview, Kendzior failed to detail how Trump was “installed” as President rather than being duly elected, a claim host Tiffany Cross failed to challenge.
Her allegations are provably false, considering that in November 2016, Trump defeated Clinton with 304 electoral votes compared to Clinton’s 227. Clinton, however, captured a plurality in the popular vote.
