(Patriot.Buzz) – Feeling threatened by the GOP frontrunner’s meteoric rise, an Obama strategist attacked former President Donald Trump following his resounding win in the New Hampshire primary over challenger Nikki Haley.
David Axelrod blasted Trump, insulting him and labeling his victory speech as “improvisational.” “I guarantee you that they did not say, ‘Go on out there and act like a jackass and go after Nikki Haley in really personal and sexist ways, humiliate Tim Scott,’” Axelrod said.
He further added:
“The challenge for his campaign team is, they can do all the blocking and tackling well, and they are. But they can’t control him. That was a really horrible exhibition last night. And it only probably made Haley more determined to try and stay.”
Additionally, Trump urged Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), who was present on the stage, to publicly profess his love for Trump, an action Axelrod described as “humiliating” for Scott.
Trump secured approximately 54% of the vote in New Hampshire, achieving an 11-point lead over Haley as predicted by Decision Desk HQ. Haley’s campaign responded to Trump’s remarks by describing his speech as a “temper tantrum.”
Haley’s team sought to distance her campaign from Trump’s, saying, “Last night, Donald Trump reminded voters that they have a choice between two diametrically opposed visions: Make America Unhinged Again or Make America Normal Again.”
Despite the setback in New Hampshire, Haley, who previously served as the governor of South Carolina, vowed to persist in her campaign. She emphasized the significance of the upcoming South Carolina primary, stating, “New Hampshire is first in the nation. It is not the last in the nation.” She then added, “This race is far from over. There are dozens of states left to go.”
