(Patriot.Buzz) – Highlighting a sharp decline in support across swing states and crucial voter demographics, Joe Biden is currently trailing former President Donald Trump in various polls.
This trend, highlighted in a Politico analysis, points towards a challenging landscape for Biden, especially among young voters and in key regions.
Recent polls conducted by Quinnipiac, Fox News, and Morning Consult reveal a stark decrease in Biden’s popularity among young voters, with his support plummeting to single digits. As evidenced in an NBC News poll, Trump has overtaken Biden in this demographic.
Biden’s dwindling support has been particularly pronounced since the Israeli Defense Forces initiated military actions against Hamas following a significant terrorist attack in southern Israel on October 7, which resulted in over 1,400 deaths, including at least 30 Americans. A poll by AP-NORC showed a split within the Democratic party, with only 50% approving of Biden’s approach to the Middle East conflict and 46% disapproving.
This situation has been further complicated by public demonstrations in the United States, including on college campuses, where speakers have expressed support for Hamas’s actions as a form of resistance against what they describe as an occupation of Palestine. This stance has been echoed by left-wing members of the House of Representatives, collectively known as “The Squad,” who called for an immediate ceasefire in favor of Hamas following Israel’s response to the October 7th attack.
Even before these events, Biden was already experiencing a loss of support. Crucially, Trump holds an advantage in key swing states like Arizona and Michigan, both of which Biden won in 2020 after they previously supported Trump in 2016. Michigan’s substantial Muslim and Arab communities, traditionally supportive of the Palestinians, play a significant role in this political shift.
Adding to Biden’s challenges are potential third-party candidacies from figures like environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., scholar Cornel West, and 2016 Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein, who announced her intent to seek the party’s nomination in 2024.
Moreover, the centrist group No Labels is considering a “unity ticket” for the upcoming election, further complicating the political landscape for Biden as he faces varied challenges from both the left and the center.
