According to a report by Fox News Digital, Republican Reps. Jim Banks (Indiana) and Michael Waltz (Florida) sent a letter to West Point demanding answers about an apparent role-playing exercise in which cadets had to learn to respect “the pronouns people prefer.”

In the letter sent Tuesday (March 21) to superintendent Lt. Gen. Steve Gilland, Banks and Waltz query the leaked “facilitator guide” that detailed a role-playing exercise for academy cadets.

According to the guide, the purpose of the exercise is to enable cadets to have confidence “in their bystander intervention skills,” which includes how to handle someone who doesn’t agree with the progressive pronoun orthodoxy.

Waltz, the chairman of the Military Readiness Subcommittee, opined that the rise in military academies putting “politics over service” is disturbing.

Waltz added that an “obligation” existed to ensure military training facilities like West Point prioritized “the education and training of future military officers” over implementing the Biden administration’s “political priorities.”

The Florida Republican added that “every minute” soldiers spent in “sensitivity training” could be a minute spent at the “rifle range.”

He continued that soldiers from Russia and China wouldn’t concern themselves with the pronouns of a U.S. soldier.

Banks, the chairman of the Subcommittee on Military Personnel, explained to Fox News that military cadets had been “forced to participate in preferred pronoun play acting” during time set aside to prevent sexual assault.

Banks added that the fact that preferred pronoun role-playing had taken preference over other sexual assault prevention “exemplifies” the divisiveness of “radical left-wing policies.”
