In a statement released on Monday (August 8), former President Donald Trump revealed that the FBI was conducting a search warrant on his Mar-a-Lago home, describing the process as his home being “under siege.”

Trump noted that such an event had never “happened to a President of the United States before.”

He also called the “unannounced raid… Not necessary or appropriate” noting that he was “working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies.”

The former President continued his statement, accusing the raid of being “prosecutorial misconduct” and “the weaponization of the Justice System,” which he believes is “an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections.”

He then expressed, “Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries,” adding,” Sadly, America has now become one of those Countries, corrupt at a level not seen before.”

The former President also accused FBI agents of breaking into his safe.

He went on to compare the search of his home to Watergate, asking “What’s the difference?” and noting that the only difference is in Monday’s search “Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States.”

According to sources, the raid on Mar-a-Lago has to do with Trump’s alleged removal of classified material from the White House to his private residence when his Presidency concluded.
