Former President Donald Trump introduced a new bold plan to reform education as part of his 2024 presidential campaign on Monday night in Davenport, Iowa.

Trump’s plan includes completely dismantling the Department of Education and in its place establishing universal school choice. He also called for woke policies to be left outside the education system, by defunding woke school districts and stopping the “transgender insanity” in sports.

In his campaign speech which was aired on Tuesday afternoon by Newsmax, Trump called for reform in education in order to “save our country from destruction.” As he pointed out the U.S. ranks at the bottom of the list of the top 40 countries in terms of success per student. He further noted that this financially did not make sense as the country spends three or even four times more than the countries in the second, third, and fourth place on the list, and yet while they are spending less money their students are more successful.

Trump proceeded to say that if he is elected the first action he will take is to sign an executive order that would completely “cut federal funding for any school that’s pushing critical race theory, transgender insanity, and any other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children.”

Trump then proceeded to call for parental rights in education, which he claims are “common sense” and yet schools have been allowed to “mutilate our children” without needing parental control.

He then called for separation in sports so that “dignity” could be restored to girl’s and women’s sports. He said that for that to happen, men need to be kept out of women’s sports.
