VIDEO – Despised Lib: ‘Our City Is in Crisis – That’s Why I Am Running’

Rubber stamp with the word LIBERAL.

(Patriot.Buzz) – After resigning amid sexual harassment allegations, despised liberal former Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) stated because the city is in crisis, it is why he will be running for NYC mayor.

See the video below.

The race pits two scandal-plagued Democrats against each other, with Cuomo already leading Adams by 23 points in early polling.

“Our city is in crisis. That’s why I am running to be Mayor of New York City,” Cuomo said in a post on his X account. “We need government to work. We need effective leadership.”

Cuomo officially announced his candidacy on March 1, 2025, setting up a high-stakes contest that could determine the future direction of a city struggling with rising crime, public safety concerns, and economic challenges.

A February poll revealed Cuomo with 33% support among NYC Democrat primary voters, compared to just 10% for incumbent Adams, signaling strong initial momentum for the former governor.

In his campaign announcement, Cuomo highlighted what he sees as failed leadership in the city, particularly focusing on public safety issues.

His critique directly targeted progressive policies that have undermined law enforcement. He stated:

“We know that these politicians now running to be mayor made a terrible, terrible mistake. They uttered the three dumbest words ever uttered by a government official: ‘cut police funding.’ They cut $1 billion from the police budget. What did you think was going to happen? It created a city in chaos.”

Furthermore, Cuomo’s campaign has quickly organized a powerful financial machine, filing to create a super PAC called “Fix the City” with plans to raise up to $15 million from wealthy donors.

Mayor Eric Adams, already weakened by a five-count federal indictment for bribery, wire fraud, and soliciting illegal foreign campaign contributions, responded dismissively to Cuomo’s announcement.

“Come one, come all. Everybody should put their position forward. I have a great record to run on. We look forward to the campaign,” Adams said.

While Cuomo acknowledged making mistakes in his announcement video, he notably did not directly address the sexual harassment allegations that ended his governorship.

Instead, he emphasized his record of leadership during previous crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, though he conveniently ignored criticism of his nursing home policies that led to thousands of preventable deaths.

The DOJ recently found that Cuomo created a “sexually hostile work environment” for at least 13 women during his time as governor.

His attorney, Rita Glavin, dismissed these findings as politically motivated, claiming “Governor Cuomo did not sexually harass anyone.

The DOJ ‘investigation’ was based entirely on the NYS Attorney General’s deeply flawed, inaccurate, biased, and misleading report.”

Meanwhile, the race represents an extraordinary situation in which New York City voters might be forced to choose between two deeply flawed Democrat candidates with significant ethical baggage.

For conservative observers, the matchup highlights the consequences of one-party rule in America’s largest city, where political accountability has given way to power politics regardless of character or conduct.

With the mayoral primary scheduled for June 2025, New Yorkers face a difficult decision about who can best address the city’s mounting problems.

The spectacle of two scandal-plagued Democrats vying for leadership of America’s largest city presents a sobering reminder of the moral and ethical bankruptcy that often characterizes liberal governance in urban America.
