Here’s what they are demanding before the midterms.
A report by Fox News shows New Mexico voters are prioritizing education and the economy in the 2022 midterm elections.
Taking to the streets of Albuquerque, Fox News took the pulse of voters in the city. Scott, a teacher in Albuquerque said, his “priorities are to get out of this financial situation that we’re in right now,” adding that since he buys the groceries in his house, the total was “considerably higher right now than it was two years ago.”
Salomar, a mother of young kids, said in the clip she would vote Democrat if the election happened today and voiced her support for education reform.
She said she wanted to see “more programs for the students, and daycare as well, and more opportunities for students, like mothers wanting to go back to school.”
Discussing his priorities, Paul said he would “like to see all the crooks that are in office get booted out.”
Gale, a graduate student, said that voting was stressful for her but added that her top priorities are public safety and civic and ethical responsibilities.
She continued by saying although she’s “one thing on [her] voter’s card,” her views sometimes conflicted with those in her party as they don’t all hold the same ideals as her, adding that “not all the people in the other party hold the ideals” she does.
She concluded by saying she wished there was a way to vote with her conscience.
