Following Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) presidential campaign launch on Wednesday, two New Hampshire state representatives who had previously supported him switched their allegiance to former President Donald Trump.

The announcement was made on Thursday after Trump’s office issued a statement that included remarks from state Representative Sandra Panek about her choice to support Trump instead of DeSantis in the 2024 presidential election. The state Representative who had previously expressed support for the Florida governor slammed DeSantis’ announcement which was marred by technical difficulties that resulted in the broadcasting stream crashing multiple times.

In a statement, Panek wrote that she was “less than impressed” by DeSantis’s announcement which was why she was officially endorsing Trump in the presidential election. She added that people cannot expect someone who could not even run properly their own campaign launch to successfully run a country.

On Wednesday, state Representative Juliet Harvey-Bolia issued a statement on Twitter in which she formally endorsed Trump, switching from her previous position of endorsing both candidates.

DeSantis has received a lot of criticism about his unsuccessful campaign launch, which was made on Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk and David Sacks. Sacks, the co-founder of Craft Ventures, claimed that the reason for the technical difficulties was that there was such a large number of people interested in seeing the campaign launch. He also stated that this was a “good sign.” He added that this was the largest audience they had ever had on Twitter Spaces which was further evidence of the enthusiasm surrounding DeSantis’s campaign.
