(Patriot.Buzz) – With less than two weeks to go until Election Day, a staggering 62% of Americans are bracing for potential chaos.

A Scripps News/Ipsos poll reveals that both Republicans and Democrats are concerned about violence after November 5.

The threat of post-election violence is not just a matter of public imagination. Law enforcement officials in Washington, D.C., are actively preparing for potential unrest despite their best efforts to ensure security.

The U.S. Capitol Police and Secret Service are facing an unprecedented surge in threats against officials, including recent assassination attempts on GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

National Security Council former senior director for counterterrorism Javed Ali warns, “Unfortunately, you can never have 100% security.”

This reality check comes as authorities designate both the Electoral College certification and Inauguration Day as National Special Security Events, reflecting the increased risk.

The potential for violence is not limited to the nation’s capital. A Quinnipiac University poll found that a staggering 73% of likely voters across the country are concerned about politically motivated violence after the election.

The situation is so dire that 50% of respondents in the Scripps News/Ipsos poll support using the U.S. military to prevent election-related violence.

Adding fuel to the fire, intelligence officials have sounded the alarm about potential interference from foreign adversaries.

Russia and Iran are reportedly set to incite violent protests after the election, exploiting the vulnerabilities of a polarized political landscape.

The specter of violence is not merely hypothetical. Since January 6, 2021, there have been 300 instances of political violence, with at least 50 this year alone.
