(Patriot.Buzz) – Underscoring that Americans are confident he can get the country back on the right path as he did during four years of America First policies, it has been revealed that former President Donald Trump has expanded his lead over Joe Biden.
In the latest CBS News/YouGov poll, Trump is ahead of Biden by four points, which signals his potential win in a rematch from the 2020 election as Super Tuesday approaches.
Specifically, Trump garners 52% support in a direct comparison with Biden, who holds 48%.
Significantly, 51% of Trump’s supporters state their admiration for him drives their vote while only 31% of Biden’s supporters cite similar sentiment and 47% indicate their vote is not based on personal affinity.
The survey highlights several challenges for Biden:
- Two-thirds of respondents (66%) feel that the country’s direction is negative under Biden’s leadership.
- Nearly half (45%) rate Biden’s presidential performance as poor.
- The same percentage (45%) describe the situation at the southern border as “a crisis.”
- Half of those surveyed (50%) believe that Biden’s re-election would worsen the border situation.
- Conversely, 72% think a second Trump term would reduce illegal border crossings.
- Opinions on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts show 37% believe Democrats have exceeded reasonable limits whereas an equal percentage (37%) view Republican DEI stances as appropriate.
- A majority (55%) fear that a second term for Biden could lead to higher prices, while 44% predict that Trump’s return might lower prices.
- Trump also surpasses Biden by significant margins regarding perceived physical health (45% to 17%) and mental/cognitive capacity (43% to 26%) for the presidency.
This poll surveyed 2,159 U.S. adults in late February and early March with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.
