(Patriot.Buzz) – In a groundbreaking initiative called Vet the Vote, 163,000 military veterans and families are stepping up to defend America’s election integrity process and voter confidence.

This program aims to recruit these patriots as poll workers, addressing the critical shortage of election staff across the nation.

The Vet the Vote coalition, comprised of 43 advocacy groups and organizations, has partnered with major sponsors like NASCAR, the NFL, and the NBA to amplify its message of safeguarding the voting process.

Veterans are perfectly suited for this crucial role, as their military training instills discipline, responsibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure—qualities essential for managing polling stations effectively.

As Ellen Gustafson, a key figure in the initiative, points out, “Our community makes for a good workforce.”

The impact of this initiative goes beyond mere staffing. A University of Maryland study revealed that the presence of veterans and military family members as poll workers significantly boost voter confidence.

Participants who learned about veteran recruitment were 7% more likely to trust in accurate vote counting.

Even more striking, among those skeptical of Joe Biden’s 2020 election legitimacy, confidence surged by 15% after hearing about veteran involvement.

Meanwhile, Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough praised the initiative, highlighting the unique qualifications of veterans “who put their lives on the line to defend the Constitution.”

“Yeah, we sure are hearing about threats. There are people questioning the integrity of our elections, and that includes questioning the integrity of the poll workers who do the work. I think we are comfortable with the idea that sometimes situations are challenging and the first goal is to de-escalate,” Gustafson added.

As Americans will know their future today, the role of Vet the Vote becomes increasingly vital.

With an estimated one in five election workers being a veteran or military family member, the initiative is set to profoundly impact the integrity and perception of the electoral system.
