(Patriot.Buzz) – A liberal judge’s decision to recuse himself from a major election fraud case in Maricopa County heightens concerns about potential judicial ‘deep-seated personal political bias’ against supporters of President-elect Donald Trump.
Amidst allegations of unfair treatment toward the accused, this development further fuels the longstanding frustration that many feel about the mainstream narrative surrounding the 2020 election results.
Judge Bruce Cohen, who was overseeing the case against Arizona state Senator Jake Hoffman and other defendants accused of attempting to interfere with the 2020 election, stepped down after defense lawyers accused him of “deep-seated personal political bias.”
The case involved allegations that the defendants produced fraudulent documents claiming Trump won Arizona’s electoral votes despite the state being called for Biden.
The controversy erupted when Cohen sent an email urging his colleagues to defend Kamala Harris against what he perceived as racist and sexist remarks.
In the email, Cohen expressed regret for not speaking out when Harris was called a “DEI hire” and criticized Trump for reposting what he considered vulgar jokes about her.
Moreover, Senator Hoffman’s defense attorneys seized on the judge’s email as evidence of bias and filed a motion for his recusal.
The motion argued that Cohen’s “rhetoric and exhortation precisely mirrors the evidence of hostile partisan political zealotry at the heart of the motions to dismiss that have been languishing before the Court for months.”
The case, which involves 18 individuals, including former Trump aides and lawyers, has drawn national attention. All defendants have pleaded not guilty to charges of forgery, fraud, and conspiracy.
Among the high-profile defendants are Rudy Giuliani (R-NY) and Mark Meadows (R-NC), with Trump labeled as an “unindicted co-conspirator.”
