(Patriot.Buzz) – Exposing the Democrats’ weaknesses in a crucial battleground state, Kamala Harris’ campaign in Pennsylvania is sinking.
With just weeks to go before the election, Harris’ team is struggling to connect with key demographics.
Republicans are also outmaneuvering it, increasing GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s chances of victory.
Specifically, top Democrats in Pennsylvania are sounding the alarm over Harris’ lackluster campaign operations, particularly in Philadelphia and its suburbs.
Criticisms include a lack of relationships with key party figures, ineffective deployment of surrogates and insufficient efforts to engage voters of color – all critical components for a Democrat victory in the state.
The campaign’s shortcomings are further exposed by its underwhelming collaboration with Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, the first woman and black woman to lead the city.
This missed opportunity underscores a broader disconnect with the black community, a vital voting bloc for Democrats.
Harris’ Pennsylvania campaign manager Nikki Lu has come under fire for her apparent lack of deep knowledge of Philadelphia’s political landscape.
“I have concerns about Nikki Lu,” said Ryan Boyer, the first Black head of the city’s influential building trades council. “I don’t think she understands Philadelphia.”
This disconnect has left many local Democrats frustrated and concerned about the campaign’s ability to mobilize voters effectively.
The Harris campaign’s struggles are not limited to Philadelphia. Latino and black Democrat leaders have had to meet with campaign officials to address concerns about the lack of local event presence and engagement with diverse voting blocs.
This failure to connect with key demographics could prove costly in a state where high voter turnout in urban areas is crucial for Democrats.
“I think the Democrats are being out-messaged by the Republicans,” Easton Mayor Salvatore Panto Jr. stated.
“In the one commercial where Kamala Harris is saying, ‘Well, that’s Bidenomics,’ I think that is hurting this because I think the Trump campaign has done a much better job of saying ‘things are really bad,'” he added.
While the Harris campaign claims to have a strong ground game and outreach efforts, with numerous offices and staff dedicated to engaging voters of color, internal polls show Trump leading Harris by a small margin.
Harris is struggling among independent, black, Hispanic, and younger voters – demographics that were crucial to the Democrats’ success in 2020.
As the clock ticks down to Election Day, the Harris campaign’s missteps in Pennsylvania highlight the broader challenges Democrats face nationwide.
Their failure to effectively communicate with key voter groups and counter Republican messaging on critical issues like the economy spells disaster for their hopes of retaining the White House.
