(Patriot.Buzz) – Highlighting a major addition to her recent candidacy for the Arizona Senate race, Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) decided to support Kari Lake in her campaign.
Blackburn celebrated Lake’s stance on the economy and immigration and labeled her a “conservative fighter” crucial for the Senate. Blackburn’s support is the latest in a string of endorsements from sitting senators which gave Lake a crucial boost as she faces a tight race in November.
In a statement, Blackburn criticized Joe Biden and Senate Democrats and asserted that they have negatively impacted the economy, public safety and border security.
Likewise, the Tennessee senator expressed, “We need conservative fighters like Kari Lake in the United States Senate, who will bring back a strong economy, cut taxes, stem the constant flow of illegal immigrants, and secure our southern border. I am thrilled to endorse her campaign to be the next Senator from Arizona.”
The Senate race in Arizona could be one of Republicans’ greatest opportunities to secure control of the Senate.
Senator Blackburn’s support aligns her with fellow GOP senators, which include Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), Steve Daines (R-MT), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Rand Paul (R-KY).
Lake appreciated Blackburn’s backing and expressed eagerness to collaborate on prioritizing American families and security.
Recent polls show that Lake is leading the race against candidate Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) by 1 point, screening 46% to 45%. However, the dynamics could change if incumbent Senator Kyrsten Sinema enters the race.
According to RealClearPolitics averages, Gallego leads in a three-way contest by 4.5 points, which includes Sinema, who has not yet announced whether she plans to run for reelection.
Lake’s allies have also pointed to former President Donald Trump’s polling in Arizona against Joe Biden as a good sign for her campaign. Moreover she has closely aligned herself with the former president, and Trump has endorsed her candidacy.
Lake also benefits from the support of the main Senate GOP campaign arm, which endorsed her run for senate earlier this month. This could give her a major boost in fundraising in the case of a head-to-head matchup with Gallego, who has not had an endorsement from any sitting Democratic senator so far in the cycle.
