Oscars Change FORMAT – Will It HELP?!

Golden Oscar trophy against a sparkling gold background.

Hollywood finally admitted that Oscar voters were not actually watching the films they voted for, now the Academy announced that starting in 2025, members must view all nominated films to vote.

For decades, the film industry’s most prestigious awards have been nothing more than a popularity contest among Hollywood insiders.

Academy members could vote for films they had not even watched, leading to questionable winners that often aligned with left-wing political messaging rather than actual filmmaking achievement.

The new mandate requires Oscar voters to watch every nominated film in each category before casting their ballots.

Previously, voters were merely “encouraged” to watch nominees and vote in categories in which they felt qualified.

“Insane this wasn’t already a rule,” noted one stunned commentator after the announcement, highlighting the absurdity that such a basic requirement was not already in place.

The same announcement included other sweeping changes that further expose Hollywood’s leftist agenda.

Films from foreign countries can now represent filmmakers with refugee or asylum status, creating another avenue for promoting globalist narratives.

The Academy’s statement revealed that “the submitting country must confirm that creative control of the film was largely in the hands of citizens, residents, or individuals with refugee or asylum status in the submitting country.”

Adding to concerns, the Academy introduced new rules regarding artificial intelligence in filmmaking, stating it will “neither help nor harm the chances of a nomination.”

However, they added that they will “judge the achievement, taking into account the degree to which a human was at the heart of the creative authorship when choosing which movie to award.”

“Wow, I was under the impression they watched every film!” remarked another surprised observer.

Perhaps most telling is that the Academy has not explained how they will enforce this new rule or verify that voters have actually watched the films.

With Hollywood’s track record of virtue signaling without accountability, patriotic Americans have every reason to remain skeptical that this change will result in any meaningful reduction in the industry’s overwhelming liberal bias.

These guidelines will be tested first at the 2026 Academy Awards, which Conan O’Brien will host on March 15.

Whether this will move the Oscars towards restoring lost prestige remains to be seen, but the foundation for change is set.

The film industry, known for its power and influence, must take this opportunity to reflect on its shortcomings to ensure a more respected and fair evaluation process.
