(Patriot.Buzz) – Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has proven that the Trump administration is working for the well-being of the American people with a bombshell revelation.
The secretary unveiled a massive drug confiscation victory with the seizure of over half a billion dollars worth of cocaine in a historic Coast Guard operation.
The administration’s vow to secure America’s borders is showing concrete results as 45,000 pounds of cocaine and 50 pounds of marijuana were intercepted before reaching American soil.
This unprecedented bust represents a direct blow to the Mexican drug cartels that Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently designated as foreign terrorist organizations.
Secretary Noem announced the seizure at Port Everglades, highlighting the operation that intercepted drugs from 14 different smuggling vessels off the coasts of Mexico, Central, and South America.
Valued at over $500 million, the bust represents one of the largest maritime drug interdictions in recent history and demonstrates the administration’s commitment to border security.
“Today is a historic day here at Port Everglades; over 22.5 tons, or 45,000 pounds of cocaine and 50 pounds of marijuana, are valued at over a half a billion dollars, are going to be offloaded and taken out of circulation,” said Secretary Noem.
The operation involved the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Stone and Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk, working alongside tactical air crews and federal partners.
These efforts are part of a broader strategy involving the Departments of Homeland Security, Justice, Defense and 22 international partners to combat drug trafficking at sea.
Today, over 22.5 tons of drugs were offloaded and removed from circulation by the @USCG. We are clearing our communities of illicit drugs that fuel addiction and crime.

Admiral Kevin Lunday sent a stern message to drug cartels during the announcement:
“Under the president’s orders and our secretary’s direction, we are ensuring 100% operational control of the border. Our message to these cartels is this: We own the sea, not you. We will find you out there, and we will take you down before you reach our border.”
The implications for American families are significant. Cocaine-related overdose deaths reached 27,569 in 2022, mainly due to fentanyl-laced cocaine, so these interdiction efforts directly impact public health.
Secretary Noem emphasized that these seizures mean “fewer families are going to be torn apart by addiction, that fewer lives are going to be lost to overdoses.”
Since President Donald Trump took office, over 80,000 pounds of illegal drugs have been seized, demonstrating the administration’s tough stance on border security.
The Coast Guard’s efforts complement the recent extradition of 29 Mexican drug cartel bosses to the United States for prosecution in the past month alone.
“This action is a testimony to President Trump’s commitment to delivering for the American people and his unwavering dedication to our military strength, to our border security, our law enforcement, to our producing incredible results,” Secretary Noem stated.
The administration’s thorough approach recognizes the critical nature of current border security.
“The U.S. southern border is a system, and it’s interconnected, which is why a team approach across that system is so critical,” explained Admiral Lunday.
Reports indicate that drug cartels are becoming increasingly desperate as the administration’s enhanced enforcement measures disrupt traditional trafficking routes.
All seized drugs will be destroyed, preventing them from reaching American communities and furthering the Trump administration’s pledge to protect American families from the scourge of illegal drugs.
