(Patriot.Buzz) – As proof of his word regarding U.S. border policies, President Trump has shattered historical records, reducing illegal crossings by over 90% in just one month.
February’s border arrests are projected to hit historic lows of approximately 8,500 aliens, down from 141,000 in February 2024.
This proves the immediate effectiveness of Trump’s hardline approach since returning to office in January.
The dramatic decline follows swift action by the Trump administration to restore order at the southern border.
With only 3,953 illegal aliens caught by February 11, monthly projections hover around 10,000 – potentially reaching the lowest levels since 1968.
Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks credited the administration’s success to Trump’s decisive leadership.
“It’s the lowest the US has seen in almost a lifetime,” Executive Director of the Center for Immigration Studies Mark Krikorian noted.
The administration wasted no time implementing comprehensive border security measures after Trump’s January 20 inauguration.
Key policies include a sweeping ban on asylum at the border, increased military deployments for enhanced security, elimination of “catch and release” practices, and the resumption of deportation flights to countries like Venezuela.
Trump’s approach also leveraged diplomatic pressure, threatening Mexico with tariffs unless they stemmed the migrant flow. The strategy worked, with Mexico deploying 10,000 troops to their side of the border.
Additionally, the administration secured agreements with Central American countries to accept deported migrants.
Trump’s enforcement strategy extends beyond the border. ICE raids have intensified nationwide, resulting in 11,000 arrests of illegal aliens within just 18 days of Trump taking office.
The administration has also begun sending illegal criminals to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, showing that serious consequences await those who violate our immigration laws.
“It’s a relief,” said Thaddeus Cleveland, a former Border Patrol agent and the current sheriff of Terrell County, Texas.
Cleveland noted that his county has seen a significant drop in illegal aliens reports, which is unusual for this time of year.
The current border arrest projections will likely surpass the previous low of 11,127 set in April 2017, during Trump’s first term.
This demonstrates that strong border policies consistently produce results when properly implemented and enforced, regardless of what liberal activists and their lawsuits might claim.
While San Diego remains the top region for illegal crossings, with 934 aliens crossing so far this month, even these numbers represent a fraction of previous totals.
Ultimately, the dramatic reduction across all sectors proves that decisive action backed by real consequences can quickly restore order at America’s borders – fulfilling one of Trump’s key campaign promises to the American people.
