Republicans MOVE To Limit Judicial POWER!

House Republicans are advancing legislation to limit the power of activist judges who have repeatedly thwarted President Trump’s agenda with sweeping nationwide injunctions.

Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA) spearheaded the “No Rogue Rulings Act,” which aims to prevent lone district judges from blocking federal policies across the country.

This pushback comes as conservative frustration mounts over liberal judges using their positions to obstruct border enforcement and other America First priorities.

Under the proposed legislation, federal district courts would be restricted from issuing injunctions that affect parties not directly involved in a case.

“The malfunction of a critical part of our judiciary should be a concern to us all, and that’s why this bill is on a glide path to the floor. It’s a Constitutional solution to a national problem and an idea whose time has come,” Rep. Issa stated.

The House Judiciary Committee has already advanced the bill, which is now poised for a floor vote as Republican leadership seeks to address what they view as judicial overreach.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has been vocal about finding solutions to combat activist judges who have repeatedly blocked Trump administration policies.

He is exploring multiple options to rein in the judiciary, which has seen an unprecedented surge in nationwide injunctions in recent years.

“Impeachment is an extraordinary measure. We’re looking at all the alternatives that we have to address this problem. Activist judges are a serious threat to our system,” Johnson said.

The use of nationwide injunctions exploded during President Trump’s first term, with judges issuing dozens of such orders to block his policies on immigration, healthcare, and environmental regulations.

Republicans point out that these injunctions allow a single judge to effectively nullify presidential authority nationwide, creating a dangerous imbalance in the constitutional system.

Judge James Boasberg’s recent ruling halting deportation flights sparked particular outrage among conservatives, with calls for his impeachment from Trump supporters and even Elon Musk.

While impeachment faces significant hurdles in the Senate, the No Rogue Rulings Act represents a practical legislative solution to address judicial activism.

Democrats predictably oppose the measure, with Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) characterizing it as merely a reaction to Trump’s legal losses.

This dismissive attitude ignores the fundamental constitutional issue: whether a single unelected judge should have the power to halt nationwide policies implemented by a duly elected president.

The bill represents one piece of a broader Republican strategy to address judicial overreach. Speaker Johnson has indicated that “everything is on the table,” including potentially questioning judges about their actions in congressional hearings.

“This is not the way the system is supposed to work. So we’re going to have hearings to highlight the abuses. I suspect that we may wind up questioning some of these judges themselves, to have them defend their actions,” Johnson added.

For conservatives and Trump supporters, the bill offers hope that a future Trump administration will not face the same judicial roadblocks that hampered his first term.

By limiting the scope of district court rulings, GOP aims to restore proper constitutional balance and prevent activist judges from substituting their personal political preferences for the will of voters.
