‘Super Mayor’ Under Criminal Investigation

(Patriot.Buzz) – Federal agents are investigating the conduct of Tiffany Henyard, the Democratic self-proclaimed “super mayor” of a Chicago suburb.

The FBI launched a criminal investigation into her over allegations that she misused taxpayer funds for personal expenses, including a police security detail and luxurious travel.

Henyard, who holds dual roles as the mayor of Dolton and the Thorntown Township Supervisor, received two subpoenas last week at Thorntown Township Hall.

The first subpoena demands records related to wage and tax documents and staff files from both a restaurant and a property management company she owns and from a political action committee and a charity in her name.

Meanwhile, the second one seeks township financial documents like budgets, payroll records and details on credit card transactions and vehicle use.

Analyzing the subpoenas, former FBI agent Ross Rice said the investigation “is very broad in scope. It’s very broad in the number of people and entities they’re asking for records on. So there must be some serious allegations of wrongdoing that they’re trying to get to the bottom of.”

Henyard has been under fire for using local police officers as her personal bodyguards, costing around $1 million.

In light of the allegations, the Dolton village board launched a probe into the findings of her obstructing police work for personal security purposes, but Henyard vetoed the resolution.

The board then opted to engage former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot for an investigation and invited the FBI to launch its own probe.

Several complaints against Henyard have reportedly reached the FBI, including a business owner’s claim that she closed his trucking business because he withheld a $3,500 political contribution.
