Tourist Dies How?!

(Patriot.Buzz) – A tragic accidеnt occurred in Indonesia when a Chinese tourist fell into an active volcano while attempting to take a photo.

According to a rеport by the Straits Times, the incident happened at the Ijen Crater in Banyuwangi, a famous location for its unique “blue fire.”

Identified as 31-year-old Huang Lihong, thе tourist was visiting the site with her husband and a tour guide.

The guide cautioned the couple to keep a safe distance from the crater’s edge. At first, Huang followed the advice, but she moved closer to the rim as she tried to capture a better view with her camera.

While stepping backward for a better shot, Huang tripped over her clothing and fell approximately 250 feet into the crater.

Local police confirmed the incident and said the event was an accidental death. In total, it took rescuers over two hours to recover her body.

The Ijen Crater is an active volcanic site known for its yellow sulfur mining that attracts tourists and hikers despite its dangers. The area is open to the public and typically hosts guided tours.

This incident underscores the risks that come with visiting such unpredictable natural attractions.

Department of Conservation for the Banyuwangi region Head Dwi Putro Sugiarto emphasized the importance of safety for tourists visiting Mount Ijen.

Huang’s body was set to be transported to Bali and then flown back to China.

Mount Ijen is part of a volcanic group located on the boundary between Banyuwangi and Bondowoso in East Java, renowned for the striking blue flames produced by ignited sulfuric gases coming from the crater.
