(Patriot.Buzz) – Underscoring his RINO character for trying to bust the Republican candidate’s chances this fall, Republican strategist Karl Rove slammed former President Donald Trump for what happened during the January 6, 2021, Capitol protest.

During a discussion with Ari Melber on MSNBC, Rove urged Democrats to pounce on Trump’s pledge to pardon the people involved with the incident. “If they were smart, they’d take the Jan. 6 and go hard at it,” he said.
“One of the critical mistakes made in this campaign is that Donald Trump has now said, ‘I’m going to pardon those people because they’re hostages,’” he added.
Trump said last month that freeing the jailed January 6 participants would be his first action after being re-elected, which prompted an outcry from leftwing ranks.
Trump has consistently expressed empathy toward those implicated in the incident and even took part in a fundraiser for the defendants last year.
Rove questioned Trump’s actions, particularly his association with individuals who he claimed engaged in violence against law enforcement that day.
January 6 saw a large group of people gather at the Capitol to protest the 2020 election results and has led to over 1,350 charged with federal crimes.
Rove, who served as the deputy chief of staff under President George W. Bush, condemned the assault as a dark moment in American history, saying, “And every one of those sons of bitches who did that, we ought to find them, try them and send them to jail.”
Despite being a Republican, Rove said he refused to support Trump over his stance on January 6.
He stated America had a chance regarding its future leadership and slammed the Trump campaign for supposedly aligning “with the people who assaulted the Capitol rather than people who stand for law and order.”
As Trump faces legal challenges in both Washington, D.C., and Georgia related to his alleged attempts to contest the 2020 election outcome, Rove’s comments reveal that even when confronted with the country’s current state, some Republicans would still prefer a Democrat to win the election.
