Failed vice presidential candidate Tim Walz (D-MN) has emerged from post-election defeat to launch a vicious attack on President Trump, calling him a “tyrant” during a law school graduation speech.

See the video below.

Walz accused Trump of repeated violations of the rule of law, claiming the president’s actions have created a national emergency.

The commencement speech was charged with call-to-action rhetoric aimed at inspiring graduates to stand against what Walz described as abuses of power.

“This is what the crumbling of rule of law looks like in real time. And it’s exactly what the founders of this nation feared: A tyrant, abusing power to persecute scapegoats and enemies,” Walz stated.

During the University of Minnesota speech, Walz stated that now more than ever, graduates need to uphold their forthcoming oath to protect the rule of law.

The governor painted a dire picture of Trump’s presidency, suggesting that new threats to American rights and the legal framework surface daily.

Walz argued that the situation is akin to the nation’s founders’ fears of a tyrant abusing power.

He claimed Trump’s actions, such as his immigration policies and acceptance of gifts from foreign leaders, crack the foundation of lawfulness and justice.

His speech met with enthusiastic applause, a sign of support from the audience.

Moreover, the Democrat governor did not shy away from calling out fellow Democrats during his address.

He criticized those focused on issues like trade while ignoring threats to the rule of law.

He also advised the graduating lawyers to be mindful of law firms aligning with Trump’s administration, which he argued might compromise their principles.

“Some would say, ‘Boy, this is getting way too political for a commencement address.’ But I would argue: I wouldn’t be honoring my oath if I didn’t address this head on,” Walz said.

Walz’s politically charged narrative came during a critical time for the Democrat Party, as they continue to debate effective strategies against Trump’s administration.

His statements lay the groundwork for potential 2028 campaigns, with Walz now among the prominent Democrats visiting early voting states.

In response, the White House has criticized Walz for his handling of Minnesota during the 2020 protests, even tying it back to his unsuccessful vice-presidential run in 2024.

In spite of the political backlash, Walz remains steadfast in calling Trump’s presidency an emergency situation.

Tensions remain as legal graduates move into their careers, and Walz’s speech reverberations may yet play a significant role in Democrat and national politics.

“I have to be honest with you: You are graduating into a genuine emergency. Every single day, the president of the United States finds new ways to trample rights and undermine the rule of law,” he stated.

The gravity of Walz’s accusations, coupled with widespread support from his audience, highlights the growing divide in national discourse.

As such rhetoric becomes more emboldened, the nation awaits to see how it influences future legal and political figures shaped by these challenging times.
