(Patriot.Buzz) – In an overdue development, Ryan Wesley Routh has finally been officially charged with the attempted assassination of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
This unashamed attack on the nation’s top Republican leader exposes the escalating threats conservative figures face.
It also underscores the urgent need for stronger protection of the candidate as Election Day approaches.
U.S. prosecutors finally leveled serious charges against 58-year-old Routh after getting arrested near Trump’s Florida golf course on September 15.
The wannabe be assassin faces up to 20 years for two gun-related charges and a potential life sentence for the attempted assassination charge.
Evidence suggests that Routh had been meticulously planning this heinous act for months.
In a disturbing pre-written letter addressed to “The World,” Routh appeared to anticipate a failed assassination attempt on the former president.
He wrote, “I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster.” Even more shocking, the letter offered a cash reward to anyone “who can complete the job.”
The liberal establishment’s response to this attack on the Republican candidate has been disinterested at best.
While U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland publicly stated, “Violence targeting public officials endangers everything our country stands for,” many patriots are left wondering if the Biden-Harris administration is truly committed to protecting conservative voices.
In turn, Trump has criticized the handling of the case. In a social media post, he rightfully argued that the justice department should “LET FLORIDA HANDLE THE CASE!”
This statement highlights the growing concern among conservatives about the federal government’s overreach and potential bias in politically charged cases.
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, was randomly selected to oversee the trial.
Judge Cannon previously handled and threw out a federal classified documents case against Trump.
This was the second assassination attempt on Trump, following an earlier attempt by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks at a July rally in Pennsylvania.
Although Crooks failed to assassinate Trump, he wounded the former president in the ear, injured two bystanders and killed a rallygoer.
