In an event that should not be happening in American prisons, MS-13 gang members in the United States illegally have launched a vicious attack on prison guards, leaving five officers injured.
Three corrections officers were stabbed at Wallens Ridge State Prison, Virginia, in a coordinated assault by six inmates, five of whom are illegal aliens from El Salvador.
The brutal incident highlights the deadly threat posed by MS-13 gang members who have entered America’s borders and are now terrorizing even within the prison system.
According to Virginia Department of Corrections officials, the attack occurred over the weekend at the western Virginia facility.
Of the six inmates involved, five are confirmed MS-13 gang members from El Salvador who entered the country illegally, while the sixth is a US citizen affiliated with the Sureño 13 gang.
All were serving time for heinous violent crimes including aggravated murder, first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and rape.
Likewise, Virginia Department of Corrections Director Chad Dotson did not mince words about the attackers, stating the obvious truth that many Americans already know about the failed immigration policies.
“Five of the individuals responsible for this senseless attack should never have been in this country in the first place,” Dotson said in a statement. He added:
“Every single day, our officers put their lives on the line to ensure public safety for the more than 8.8 million people across the Commonwealth. This attack is an example of the dangers they face when they show up to work every day. Our officers are heroes, and I commend the team at Wallens Ridge for their swift response.”
Five officers required medical treatment following the attack. Three have already been discharged, but two remain hospitalized in stable condition. Officials have not released any further details as the investigation continues.
MS-13, also known as Mara Salvatrucha, is a transnational criminal organization notorious for extreme violence.
The gang engages in horrific crimes, including murder, human trafficking, extortion, and drug distribution across the United States.
During the Trump administration, federal authorities cracked down on these gangs, resulting in numerous arrests and deportations and MS-13 members were targeted for removal.
On the other hand, the Biden administration’s open border policies have allowed gang members like these to pour into American communities.
The violent prison attack comes as illegal immigration remains a top concern for American voters heading into the 2024 election.
With millions of illegal aliens crossing the southern border since 2021, the threat of violent gang members entering communities across the nation has become a frightening reality for many.
The fact that five of these attackers should never have been in America in the first place raises serious questions about national security and immigration policies.
As prison guards recover from their injuries, Americans are left wondering how many more violent criminals have been allowed to cross the borders and threaten our safety from within.
