(Patriot.Buzz) – Secretary of State Marco Rubio scored a major immigration victory by reaching an agreement with Guatemala to significantly increase the number of deportation flights it accepts from the United States.
See the tweet below.
Guatemalan President Bernardo Arevalo announced a 40% increase in the country’s acceptance of U.S. deportation flights following high-level talks with Secretary Rubio.
This strategic move not only addresses the immediate challenge of illegal immigration but also strengthens the partnership between the two nations in combating this pressing issue.
“We have agreed to increase by 40 percent the number of flights of deportees both of our nationality as well as deportees from other nationalities,” President Arevalo stated.
The deal goes beyond just accepting more Guatemalan illegals. The country has also agreed to temporarily house deportees from other countries, facilitating their return to their home nations.
This unprecedented cooperation showcases the Trump administration’s commitment to finding innovative solutions to the immigration crisis.
Secretary Rubio praised the agreement, stating:
“His willingness to accept not just nationals but those from other nationalities as they seek to ultimately return to their own homelands is also important, and we’ve pledged our support with those efforts.”
This landmark deal starkly contrasts the failed policies of the previous administration. Under former President Biden, Guatemala received only about 14 deportation flights per day.
The new agreement is expected to significantly increase this number, sending a clear message that illegal entry into the United States will not be tolerated.
Moreover, the Trump administration’s tough stance on immigration is already yielding results. In 2024 alone, approximately 66,000 people were deported from the U.S. to Guatemala.
With this new agreement in place, that number is set to rise dramatically, providing much-needed relief to America’s overwhelmed border communities.
Secretary Rubio’s successful negotiation with Guatemala is part of a broader regional tour aimed at gaining support for President Trump’s anti-immigration policies.
This comprehensive approach includes visits to Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to addressing the root causes of illegal immigration.
“This is an example of foreign aid that’s in our national interest. That’s why I’ve issued a waiver for these programs. That’s why these programs are coming back online,” Rubio explained.
“And they will be functioning because it’s a way of showing to the American people this is the kind of foreign aid that’s aligned with our foreign policy, with our national interest,” he added.
As the Biden administration’s open-border policies leftovers continue to wreak havoc on American communities, this agreement with Guatemala serves as a hope for those prioritizing national security and the rule of law.
The success of this deal should serve as a wake-up call to those who have long opposed common-sense immigration reform.
