(Patriot.Buzz) – Refusing to let the Democratic-led witch hunts stop him, former President Donald Trump is heading to the West this week with planned stops in two key battleground states after his recent conviction in New York.
Polls show Trump leading Joe Biden in these key states, which he aims to reclaim after losing them in the 2020 election.
The former president is set to appear at a Turning Point Action event in Arizona on Thursday, followed by his first campaign rally in Las Vegas on Sunday.
His stance on stricter border security appears to resonate in these states, which are significantly impacted by immigration issues.
In Arizona, Trump has a 4.0-point lead over Biden in polls that include third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jill Stein and Cornel West. Nevada shows Trump ahead by 5.4 points in similar polls, as per RealClearPolitics data.
Turning Point Action founder Charlie Kirk criticized Biden’s border policies for bringing crime and economic issues to Arizona.
“In October 2023, ICE arrested an illegal immigrant wanted for terrorism in Senegal weeks after Border Patrol released him. Arizona families have also lost $29,053 on average due to Bidenflation, with inflation over 22.2% and monthly costs spiking by $1,200,” said Kirk.
Arizona’s support for Biden in 2020 marked the second time ever that a Democratic candidate has won the state since 1952.
Nevada last favored a Republican presidential candidate in 2004 when George W. Bush was re-elected.
Trump’s upcoming visit to Nevada happens at the same time as the state’s closely watched Republican Senate primary on June 11.
Although competing candidates Sam Brown and Jim Marchant are going for the nomination, Trump has not endorsed either of them.
The Trump campaign outlined the former president’s agenda for the Nevada rally, stating, “President Trump will put America first by getting our economy back on the right track for working families, lowering inflation and the cost of living. President Trump will secure the border and make our cities safe again.”
“And President Trump will make the world respect us again with his peace through strength agenda. Americans are coming together like never before with a shared mission to Make America Great Again,” it concluded.
