(Patriot.Buzz) – In a fearless move against Joe Biden’s overreach, U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel are fighting back as they have filed lawsuits challenging the administration’s decision to block their $15 billion merger, exposing a web of political favoritism and union influence.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, accuses Biden of ignoring the rule of law to curry favor with the United Steelworkers union.

The companies did not mince words in their accusation:

“President Biden ‘ignored the rule of law’ in order to gain favor with United Steelworkers, the union representing many of U.S. Steel’s employees, when he announced Friday he would not allow the acquisition to go through.”

This lawsuit exposes the administration’s willingness to sacrifice American business interests for political gain.

Biden deemed the deal, which would have injected $3 billion into U.S. Steel’s operations, a threat to national security.

However, the plaintiffs argued that this decision was predetermined and influenced by promises made to the powerful United Steelworkers union.

“President Biden’s Order is the culmination of a months-long campaign to subvert and exploit the United States’ national security apparatus for the purpose of keeping a promise made by the President and his advisors to the USW leadership,” Nippon Steel and U.S. Steel stated.

The file also names Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Attorney General Merrick Garland, highlighting the case’s far-reaching implications.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that even former President Trump opposed the deal, suggesting that U.S. Steel could become more valuable under his proposed tariffs.

“Why would they want to sell U.S. Steel now when tariffs will make it a much more profitable and valuable company? Trump said.

“Wouldn’t it be nice to have U.S. Steel, once the greatest company in the World, lead the charge toward greatness again? It can all happen very quickly!” he added.

Industry experts have criticized the Biden administration’s decision and warned of dire consequences for U.S. Steel’s future.

Without Nippon Steel’s investment, the company may be forced to shift to cheaper, nonunion electric arc furnaces and potentially relocate its headquarters from Pittsburgh, dealing a blow to American workers and communities.

As this legal battle unfolds, it is clear that Biden’s decision may have less to do with national security and more to do with appeasing union bosses in key swing states like Pennsylvania.

The lawsuit alleges anticompetitive actions by Cleveland-Cliffs and the USW, suggesting a coordinated effort to derail the merger for their own benefit.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the Biden administration’s willingness to sacrifice American economic interests for political expediency.

As U.S. Steel’s financial performance continues to decline, one cannot help but wonder if Biden’s intervention will ultimately lead to the job losses and economic damage he claims to be preventing.
