DA EXPLODES – ‘STOP This!’

(Patriot.Buzz) – Following a recent crime wave in the county involving Chilean illegals, Republican Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer publicly criticized Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his lack of action on visa vetting.

Spitzer’s office issued a statement detailing the arrest of Jorge Navarretecorvalan and Alejandro Tobarfuentes, who are accused of causing a head-on collision while fleeing from a burglary in San Juan Capistrano.

They were reportedly in the U.S. under an ESTA visa waiver, which does not require Chile to provide criminal background checks for its citizens.

Spitzer expressed his frustration, stating, “Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has the power to immediately and unilaterally suspend Chile from the ESTA visa waiver program until it complies with the requirement to provide criminal background checks for their citizens.”

He accused Mayorkas of allowing “a direct pipeline for organized crime to shuttle thieves into the United States,” which he says worsens ongoing domestic crimes.

The two suspects were recently involved in a dangerous car chase that ended in them crashing their Mini Cooper into a Toyota Camry as they tried to avoid a sheriff’s deputy.

The incident is part of a broader trend of Chilean illegals exploiting the $21 ESTA Visa Waiver Program to enter the U.S. and commit crimes, as noted by Orange County officials.

This program allows for stays of up to 90 days at a time over a two-year period and can be approved within 72 hours after applying.

Concerns about the security implications of the ESTA program have been heightened by reports of increased home invasions in California, with 350,000 Chilean illegals entering the U.S. through this program in 2022 alone.

Despite the rising crime statistics linked to these entries, Chile remains the only Latin American country eligible for the ESTA program, which Spitzer argues makes it easy for career criminals to enter America.

In response to what he views as federal inaction, Spitzer has taken legal steps against the Biden administration in an effort to seek transparency and accountability in the handling of ESTA visas, particularly in light of Chile’s refusal to provide necessary background checks.
