(Patriot.Buzz) – In a shocking Christmas night incident, a law-abiding citizen acted in self-defense when he shot three juveniles for trying to rob him at gunpoint.

The attempted robbery took place in the 12700 block of North Houston Rosslyn Road in Harris County, Texas.

According to Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Major Suarez, four young kids between the ages of 12 and 14 approached a 25-year-old man and his girlfriend with firearms in hand.

Initially, the couple thought it was a prank due to the boys’ young appearance.

However, the situation quickly turned dangerous, forcing the victim to take action to protect himself and his girlfriend.

“The victim pulled out his own weapon and shot at the juveniles,” stated Major Suarez.

Suarez also highlighted the importance of the Second Amendment in allowing citizens to defend themselves against criminal threats.

Three of the young suspects were injured in the exchange. Two are in fair condition and one is in critical condition.

The fourth juvenile and an adult were arrested at the scene. The victim remained at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement.

This incident raised serious questions about the parents of these young criminals and how children as young as 12 gained access to weapons.

While initial reports suggested the juveniles might have been using BB guns, this remains unconfirmed.

Several firearms were recovered at the scene for processing, indicating the very real danger the victim faced.

The 25-year-old man who defended himself has turned himself in to authorities, and a grand jury will determine if he will face any charges.
