Pro-Life Activist Remains Free Despite Biden’s DOJ

(Patriot.Buzz) – Despite the unashamed leftwing attempts to see him behind bars, a Tennessee judge recently decided that pro-life activist Paul Vaughn would not face prison time for trying to stop abortions at a Tennessee clinic.

Although Joe Biden’s Justice Department pushed for a one-year prison sentence, the court ordered Vaughn to three years of supervised release instead.

“We rejoice in God’s plans,” Vaughn expressed through a statement from his legal team at the Thomas More Society.

“Because this is at the heart a spiritual battle, we are thankful to have a strong advocate in the Thomas More Society. Not only are they experts at law, but they deeply understand the spiritual battle raging across our land.”

He declared his intention to challenge the ruling, stating, “We will appeal to have this unlawful use of the law overturned.”

“We must stand and fight for what is right. We cannot bow down to the lie. Laws have to be grounded in truth. They have to align with the ultimate lawgiver, who is Christ our Lord,” he added.

In October 2022, the FBI arrested Vaughn and charged him along with ten other activists for a 2021 “blockade” of an abortion clinic in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, citing violations of the FACE Act, which protects access to reproductive health services.

DOJ Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke emphasized at their conviction in January 2024, “These defendants are being held accountable for unlawfully obstructing access to reproductive health services.”

Recalling the day of his arrest, Vaughn described a dramatic scene: “guns pointed at the door, banging on the house, yelling and screaming, ‘Open up. FBI.’”

Although he opened the door to de-escalate the situation, he was arrested immediately while his family watched.

Video footage from that day shows his wife confronting the FBI agents and demanding to know why they approached their home aggressively, but the agents offered little explanation.

Thomas More Society senior counsel Steve Crampton responded to the ruling with mixed feelings.

He was grateful for the judge’s leniency but criticized the conviction as “a deep injustice.”

Crampton highlighted the protest’s peaceful nature, describing it as “filled with prayer, hymn-singing, and worship.”
